Summer Rowing Camps '18

1-1dawn girls on waterIn just 7 years, Port Rowing has burst onto the national rowing scene by winning medals at the NY State Championships and qualifying boats for the Youth National Championships. Joining rowing in the summer with Port you will train and race in singles, doubles/pairs, fours and eights to maximize water time and gain valuable experience. We believe in small boat rowing to help develop boat feel and technique. Come join Port Rowing this summer to develop your skills and gain an edge on the competition!

Our Summer Training Camps are open to rowers who will be in 7th grade or above as of Fall 2018.

High School Training Camps 2018

Mondays - Fridays. 8 - 11 am

$400/session. Prepay for all sessions - $999!

  • Session 1: June 25 – July 6
  • Session 2:July 9 – July 21
  • Session 3:July 23 – August 3

Club Nationals Competive Camp

Aside from the 3x 2-week sessions, we will also host a 3-week competitve camp this summer (6/25 - 7/15) to prepare for US Rowing Club Nationals on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ (7/11 - 7/15). Club Nationals is a highly competive multi day regatta, racing multiple races in possibly different events. If you have interest in this camp, reach out to either coach Isa or coach Michiel to see if this camp is for you. More information and possibilty to register for this camp will follow later.

With the regular 2-week session camps we will attend the following regatta's during the summer:

Philadelphia Youth Regatta, July 21. Additional trip fees apply.

Overpeck Summer Sprints, August 3. Additional trip fees apply.

Extra option: you will now have the opportunity to add a 1-week program to one of your 2 or 4 week camp program. Note: you cannot sign up for just 1 week of rowing, the 1-week has to be combined with one of the other camps listed above. If you want to add this option when registering for a camp, you can find it under Camps & Clinics. The cost is $200.

 

Middle School and Learn 2 Row Camps 2018

This camp is geared towards rising 7th, 8th or 9th graders who have already some middle school rowing experience or are new to the sport. If you are new to the sport (learn-to-row), we will teach you the basics of the rowing technique first on land and will transition onto the water soon afterwards. Learning to row during the summer is an excellent way to row more competitively in the fall.

Those new to Port Rowing, must complete a swim test to be witnessed and signed by a certified lifeguard. Download blank swim test form here. When registering and the rower is currently in 6th grade, select the 7th grade option.

Offered dates and times are the same as for the HS camps, except for attending the races.
