High School Fall 2017

The High School competitive teams have 3 distinct seasons on the water: Spring, Summer, and Fall. The Winter season is designed for indoor training and conditioning.

Fall season is characterized by head races. A head race is typically a longer race with staggered start times. Therefore, the Fall training season focuses on endurance and technique and demands more precision from the coxswains.

Varsity, Junior Varsity & Novice Team Program Dates:

August 28 - November 16

Our Men's and Women's High School Teams are for experienced rowers in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Our Novice Team is for rowers in 9th grade as well as older high school rowers who are new to rowing.

All new rowers to Port Rowing must complete a swim test BEFORE being allowed on the water. Click here for a copy of the swim test form.

Informational meeting about the Fall program will be Tuesday September 5 at the Port Washington Public Library at 7:00PM. All rowers and parents must attend.

Both Varsity and Novice Teams travel to regattas on the east coast and the elite boats may be chosen to race at the world famous Head of the Charles. Trip fees apply for several away trips. You can find the 2017 fall schedule here.
